What's New
The week of January 14
A new year... Garden Centre Hellebore
These perennial cyclamen are one of hundreds of perennials now growing in the cold frames. The garden centre was looking kind of bare, but is now starting to fill up with gift items and the new season's gardening supplies. The Hellebore orientalis (Lenten Rose) is in full bloom in the back and giving the staff a taste of spring.
Peonies mums the word Alpines
Check out these Itoh peonies. Bob Stadnyk has some interesting items in store for the peony-fans this spring: like the $100 'Prairie Charm' or the $200 'Old Rose Dandy' The greenhouse is filling up with plants like these potted mums, perfect to add a little spring to your household. This Primula allioni 'Neon', blooming in the cold frame, sure lives up to its name.
