Pick Of The Crop For 2004
Perennials Bedding Plants Trees & Shrubs
Ligularia 'Brit-Marie Crawford' features clusters of orange-yellow flowers with chocolate maroon foliage. The plant will reach heights of 90 cm to 1 m, and works very well where a large, impressive feature is needed. The 'Occold Shield' geranium is a low-maintenance, amazingly vigorous, new geranium with vibrant, coral-orange, double flowers and striking chocolate-brown zoning on golden foliage. The huge blooms of the Hydrangea paniculata 'Unique' put on a fantastic show in the summer, gradually changing hue from white to pink. A great feature plant, or use it for screening.
Hardy Roses Tender Roses Fruits
The 'Morden Sunrise' is a hardy Parkland shrub rose featuring gorgeous, semi-double, yellow blooms (very unusual for hardy roses) with orange and pink overtones. The 'Judy Garland' Floribunda rose is an outstanding performer. Double, yellow blooms with petals edged orange-red, 10 cm flowers and an apple-rose fragrance. The Arctic kiwi is an extremely showy climber, with attractive pink, white and green foliage. Female plants, when planted close to the pollinating male plants, may produce small, succulent green kiwi fruits.

Vegetables Bulbs Herbs
'Blushing Beauty' is an early maturing, gorgeous, ivory bell pepper that ripens to beautiful shades of blush to red. Grows well in the garden and containers. The golden-orange flowers of 'Babylon Bronze' Dinner Plate dahlia are fully double, with broad, blunt-ended petals with no visible central disc. Here we give you five basic food categories and a few examples of complementary herbs that enhance their flavours. Experiment with your own selections and you may just come up with a new family favourite.
