What's New
The week of July 31
Tomatoes, Grasses, Containers and more
Colour!
This Echinacea purpurea is a stunning perennial and great addition to any yard. This week in Indoor Plants, we have a small selection of Oleander which have a beautiful display of flowers. There are still lots of perennials available. These Pixie Series lilies look great with the Veronica 'Sonny Border Blue'
Style!
Perennial grasses are a much underused element in Alberta gardens. This Calamagrostis 'Eldorado' has great shape, provides gentle movement and has some interesting winter style At $10, these Lemon Boy tomatoes are a great deal for us gardeners who had a late start. The stunning flowers on these Mandevilla 'Alice Dupont' definitely make them worthwhile even late July.
August @ Hole's
Hard at Work
This is the time of year to come down and see the show garden in full bloom and check out some of the trials for next season. Most of the poinsettia are in and as the greenhouses empty they will be spaced out to fill the whole growing range. Also the poinsettias have received their first pinch to help ensure full, lush plants.
Of Interest!
Indoor plants have a table of interesting and unusual plants, like Venus Fly Traps, Myrtle topiaries,Money Plant, and Cristata grafted on Euphorbia. The planters are still making up interesting planters for last minute touch ups to the yard. July and August is busy time in Publishing as we shoot images for our next book on Indoor Plants.
