What's New
The week of March 26
No Snow, New Plants
Primula marginata
Squills
Alpine aquilegia
The snow has only been gone for a couple of days and the alpine garden is showing its true colours.
There are quite a few tips showing through the gravel, but this squill is the first to give us a hint of bloom.
Brush away a few dead leaves and the new growth on this columbine is already doing well.
More primula
Tulips!
The Crusher
This patch of primulas was huge and all of it weathered the winter in fine form.
We overwintered some tulips and other bulbs and brought them in to warm up a while ago. As a result we have a great display of spring colour.
Inside the transplanting crew are transplanting thousands of seedlings a day by hand and with the aid of this transplanting machine.
Great Gardening
We have some great pots available now like these huge bowls in sturdy, weather resistant plastics.
The first of the Easter lilies are open and looking spectacular.
More and more bulbs are available including, lilies, liatris, anemone, dahlias, sparaxis and much, much more.
