Azaleas on sale, behind the scenes-planting perennials and roses
Azaleas on sale
Caladium
Cineraria
All our azaleas are 50% off this week. Azaleas are undoubtedly one of the most beautiful, prolific blooming house plants available.
We were talking about caladium last week and sure enough the girls are using them in arrangements this week.
These beautiful cineraria are available this week. They do best on a very bright north or east windowsill with some direct morning sun.
Behind the Scenes-perennials
The perennial crew who have been together for a few years now, move along like a well oiled machine.
It's amazing to me the efficiency in which they work. Cart after cart containing everything from aquilegia to veronica gets planted quickly but with the utmost care.
Finally as the day progresses the coldframe starts to fill up. In the end, it's an awesome display of skill and dedication from the staff here at Hole's.
Behind the Scenes-roses
Out in coldframe 19 over by Lois' house, the tree and shrub crew are busy planting roses into containers. Let's look inside and see what's going on.
As I walk in, the smell of fresh soil is overpowering. Maggie and Karen are busy at the potting machine as the soil pours forth at a never ending rate.
John is busy sorting through huge boxes of bareroot roses from PanAm Roses.
The bare roots then go to Shane, who keeps them organized for the girls who are putting them into containers.
From there the potted roses head down the conveyor where Tanja carefully organizes the newly planted roses
At the end of the line the roses are neatly organized to begin their growing process.
