The week of May 7
Bright Colours and Great Selection
The alpine garden always looks its best at this time of year. It's best to shop for fuchsias before Mother's Day when there is a tremendous selection. The nursery is filling up and looking great with new stock arriving regularly.
The perennial area is almost stocked as we slowly bring out some of the more tender plants. We have a nice selection of water plants this year and some great containers as well. This is the time of year when the feature trees begin to arrive like this awesome French Blue Scotch Pine.

On the Move Check in the Back Good Exercise
Everything you see in the greenhouse is moved by hand from the growing areas, providing lots of exercise for our staff. Touring the cold frames stuffed full of new and interesting plants is one of the best privileges of being on staff at Hole's. This is the time of year when heat becomes a problem and the staff get to build upper body strength by cranking up the sides of the cold frames.
