What's New
The week of September 30
Fall Colour Going fast Planting for spring
The show garden still has some great colour like with late-blooming plants like this Sedum 'Matrona' Today is the last day for perennials; the remaining stock will be donated to the Devonian Botanical Garden and Olds College. Although the bulb ecommerce site comes down today, there is still a selection of bulbs available in the garden centre.
Selection Colour beauty
There is an amazing collection of orchids available this week like this Dendrobium 'Queen Southeast' Another spectacular orchid now available is this Brassia 'Tropic Dawn' I was stunned by the profusion of blooms on this Oncidioda Charlesworthii 'Mishima'
Behind the Scenes
Orange Planning Decorations
The pumpkins have arrived and the staff are busy sizing and pricing them for sale this week. Monday mornings is the growers meeting where the progress of the crops (poinsettias this time of year) is discussed and staff is updated on what's coming up. This giant scarecrow is just one of the new features of this year's 'Pumpkin Patch'
