The week beginning
July 9

Fat Albert...

Great name, great tree. These Fat Albert Colorado spruce are on sale now in the nursery.

Birdbaths

Another item on sale is these carved granite birdbaths, perfect for adding a bit of texture to your yard.

 Patriotic Colours

The front greenhouse has some gorgeous examples of the Patriot Rainbow lantana available.

Behind the Scenes

Holes will be providing over 30,000 plants and 10,000 man-hours to make sure that the World Championships in Athletics is as colourful as possible.

A Primrose?

Hard to believe, but these unusual cone-like flowers are actually Litton's primroses (Primula vialii)...had me fooled!

 My Favourite

I've always had a soft spot for these Fiesta Impatiens (Pink Ruffle pictured here) and now you can get extra large plants on sale.!

Perennials

Now is the time to come out and visit the perennial area and see all those plants in bloom...like these Gallery Yellow lupines.

 Inukshuk Bouquet

The floral department is hard at work making these inukshuk centre pieces for a function in Edmonton.

A helping hand...

There is a new Gardena push mower available in the garden centre...one with a rechargable electric drive to lend a helping hand.

Fresh Grapes

Not many Albertans get a chance to sample fresh grapes, but the staff here at Holes have been reaping the harvest from the grapes growing in the glasshouse.
