On Sale

There are some great deals on in perennials and trees & shrubs.

Fall Season

While most of us (and our gardens) are thinking end of season, some of the plants like this lewisia are just beginning to bloom.

Myke

This year we tried out Myke's mycrprhizzal fungi and the staff were fairly impressed by it performance. Now they've come out with a version for the bulbs

Grass...

If you'd like to try something different, this variegated Moor Grass has great texture and awesome colours.

Patent Trials

Staff from Goldsmith seeds and the Canadian govenment are here to record the patent trials that were grown in the greenhouses this year. They check all the plants for consistency of colour and habit in order to fulfil the requirements for new plant patents.

 Publications

As the plant business winds down, the publishing department gets to work. We are already hard at work on Spring Gardening 2002 and Greg is picking the best images from over 2000 slide to go in the upcoming Bulb book.

Poinsettias

The crop is doing well and starting to fill out like this 15 cm Cortez Red.

 Tomatoes

The tomato trials in the cold frames have produced some spectacular (and tasty) yeilds like this trial variety called Luscious.

Taste

There is still a good selection of herbs available if you want some late season harvest or are looking for something for your window pots.

Spiders...

Fall gift items and the beginnings of Halloween are starting to appear around the Garden Centre, but be careful if you want to get one of Jim and Lois' books...they may bite!.
